Hi - probably from lack of appropriate search results, this is not possible, but...
We are migrating from SharePoint 2007 to 2013. Our public website has 2 wsp's - one is a site template and the other is the publishing solution. Is is possible to deploy these directly to our new 2013 farm? So far, I have deployed the site template wsp at farm level and deployed the publishing solution to the web application.
When I create a new site collection and change the 'Select experience version' to '2010', I get the appropriate new tab in the templates area, and the appropriate template to select. However, creating a new site collection using this, I get an error saying that the publishing feature needs to be activated on the site collection.
So I have tried creating a custom/no template site collection using the version as '2010' and activated the publishing feature on that site collection, and then tried activating the template, but got an error.
Activating the custom publishing feature on the site collection also produces an error.
This is making me think that what I am attemptin is not doable. Any thoughts? Thanks
