Hello Everybody,
I am able to configure Office Web Apps Server 2013 to view my documents in the free online viewers which are provided with the product. It works very well and I am able to view my documents in the browser. However, I would like to support editing of the documents as next step. I understand that Office Web Apps licensing offers two options:
View-only: By default, Office Web Apps is view-only. View-only functionality is provided for free.
Edit and view: You must purchase an editing license to use the editing features of Office Web Apps with SharePoint 2013. You enable editing when you create the Office Web Apps Server farm.
What I would like to know is only purchasing the license would make editing enabled OR do I have to host a web page / site in share point which will make request to documents and make it editable?
The other thing I would like to ask is if I write my own WOPI server, then how to enable editing using Office Web Apps server?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Niranjan
