Distributed Cache service won't start on one host

I am having issues on a new test farm where the AppFabric service won't start, it gives a generic "Access Denied" error. I had previously installed SP2013 on the same VM. Is it likely that some traces from the previous installation are messing something up here?

Also, is it not possible to configure search topology through Central Admin in SP2013?
