We have a SP2013 on-premise farm. We have OWA installed. Recently a file (excel xlsx file) is locked and prompt for the error at title.
We confirmed the opened the file was opened since 2 days ago. The domain\user in title is on vacation. At this moment, everyone including site collection admin cannot edit the file. The OWA cannot edit the file, too. We do not enforce check-in/check-out on the library. The file is not in "check-out" status.
I understand this issue is hard to trace. However, whether any available method to unlock it by site collection admin? Any quick fix beside modify the DB directly? Is there any way to prevent?
