SharePoint 2013 - Custom List Column Level security, Field Regex Validation, unique Column Policy, Workflow Person lookup for First and Last name

We are currently on SharePoint 2007 and have 3rd party solutions for all of these. Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of these appear to have been addressed in SharePoint 2010, 2013 or O365 right? If not, is that a complete miss from Microsoft or am I the only person who sees features adding real value to SharePoint?

What are shops using for these? continuing with Codeplex or paying for something like Bamboo Solutions?

What happens to these things in O365?
