Changed label in column is a Document Set

$

Hello All,

I have had for a while now a Document Set setup for How To Articles.

They are as HT-000, HT-OO1, etc.

Everything has been fine and working. Searches, etc.

However today I was setting up a new DS in a different library. Noticed I kept getting message like this already exists. First uploads and nothing in the Recycle bin.

So I went back to the working HT DS and noticed all documents previously labels 001, 002, etc all are now HT-000, and they all seem to be checked out by me. I have not been editing on this DS Library for many weeks after it was setup.

Not sure what caused this error.

SP is running off our on premise AD so not sure if something there could change the settings. Seems unlikely from my perspective.

SharePoint 2013 SSL Redirect (from Load Balancer) Workflows stop working

As the title suggests, setup SSL on my SharePoint front end servers but when putting the redirect (which sends HTTP traffic to HTTPS from our load balancer), my workflows don't run properly.  They sit on the first stage of the workflow and don't progress.  What am I missing?  If i revert back to HTTP, everything works properly.

Managed Metadata column not loading data on HTTPS

As the title suggest, I've extended one of my web applications to use SSL, but am having an issue on several of the HTTPS sites now where they won't load a column that's using the managed metadata service application (looks up term store data).  In HTTP it loads fine and pulls up a customer list dropdown, but in HTTPS it doesn't load at all basically times out.  Any ideas?

SSRS report display issues from sharepoint

Have managed to get SharePoint Reporting services setup along with the add-in and am currently having problems displaying the .rdl report that I've built in Report Designer from SharePoint.  I'm using a SharePoint List as my datasource and when I run the report from within Report Builder I get data back no problem.  However once it's published to SharePoint it returns no data and with what seems to be a partial amount of the controls (graphics appear to be missing see uploaded screenshot below).

https://ibb.co/NnyV9Hq

I should mention that I'm running SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server 2012 SP2.  Can anyone steer me in the right direction on what else I can do to try and troubleshoot this?  Much appreciated.

SharePoint Online Workflow Permissions

I have a SharePoint Online list with an associated workflow. The workflow is set to initiate upon submission of a new list item. I have given'Contribute' permissions to 'Everyone except external users'. I've set the workflow to use App Steps, and configured the Workflow to use 'Full Control' permissions in Site App Permissions. I have used this same logic for other lists/workflows and it has always worked. In this particular list, when users submit a new item, it allows the item to be saved to the list. The workflow is initiated, however, it fails on the first step and gives the error:

"Retrying last request. Next attempt scheduled in less than one minute. Details of last request: HTTP Unauthorized to https://mysite.sharepoint.com/teams/IT/_api/web/lists(guid'a5f767b2-39ca-407a-8071-43b6bacfbd91') Correlation Id: a91eff6b-86ef-dd7a-a119-02a4c3429f7c Instance Id: 99124f44-2dcc-454a-9401-bf04d9ea920f
Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access this resource."

I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I've separated each of the steps in the workflow trying to isolate the problem, but I've had no luck. It always returns the same error. When I run the workflow manually, as the Site Owner, it works perfectly.

Any guidance on how troubleshoot this error would be appreciated. I did verify that the list guid referenced in the error is the same as the list that the workflow is running against.

***Edit: I've added a new stage at the top of the workflow, that does nothing except Set Workflow Status. The workflow fails on the first step.

Thanks in advance,

cflbasser

All,

Looking for some alternatives to Infopath and SharePoint Designer to use with our on prem 2013 farm.

I know of Nintex and saw a little about Power Apps and Flow. Are these considered replacements?

Does anyone have any experience with either of them and would recommend?

Can't save documents in library and folders with accents

Hello all,

Since the update of IE11 to version 11.0.115 (KB4489873) we have a problem when creating document from SharePoint 2013.

The problem is linked to the use of characters with accents (é, è, à,…) in the folder (or document set) name.

For example:

I have a library with a folder called "Vive le vélo":

I create a document from within the library:

It opens up correct in Word. When I try to save I see thisin the address bar:

Ofcourse resulting in an error when trying to save:

When I open the library from within Word the address in the address bar it displayed correctly:

So it seems that Internet Explorer does not send the encoded url to the client?

We tested with version IE 11.0.110 and there we do not have this problem. When we upgrade it to IE 11.0.115 the problem is the same.

We work with SharePoint 2013 and Office 2016

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Peter

Change linked column for Preview Pane style

$

I have a list containing Last Name, First Name and a calculated column called Full Name that concatenates the Last and First Names. My users import their excel spreadsheet into the list and want to keep columns segregated as last, first etc.

As you can see from the below picture, Last Name links to Edit item and hence preview style.

How can I link the edit menu to Full Name instead of Last Name so it shows up on the left side of the Preview pane?

It would also be great if I didn't have the blue link for any of the fields on the details panel.

This is the current view:

Unable to modify Office documents in specific SharePoint locations - A problem occurred while connecting to the server

Hello,

I have following problem in my SharePoint Foundation 2013 environment.

I was able to modify Office documents located in my SharePoint sites without problem. I open documents directly from Internet Explorer (version 11) or from “Explorer view”.

Suddenly, without specific action, I have now the following message when I open office document from Internet Explorer and next click “Edit document” in Word or Excel :
A problem occurred while connecting to the server. If the problem continues, contact you administrator.

After many tests, I note that this problem occurs only in specific libraries in SharePoint sites.
For example :
file#1 in library#1 works fine (no problem to modify the document)
file#2 in library#2 doesn’t work (unable to modify document, message “A problem occurred while connecting to the server”).
If I copy file#1 in library#2, problem occurs on file#1 copied
If I copy file#2 in library#1, no problem to modify file#2 copied.

I don’t have any problem when I opened documents from “Explorer view”.
I don’t have any problem when I opened documents from Firefox.

I have uninstall/reinstall Internet Explorer 11 but problem still occurs.
I have repair Office 2016 but problem stills occurs.
I have tried with another windows user on my computer and the problem is the same with this user.
I have tried with another computer and I don’t have this problem (so it’s not a permissions problem on SharePoint library).

My computer OS is windows 10.

It seems to be a specific problem to my computer (and only for specific locations in SharePoint sites) but I don’t’ have any other ideas to test.

Do you have any ideas to resolve my problem?

Thanks.
Regards,

Approved documents showing up as checked out to System account in SharePoint library

Hi,

I have some documents in my document library which are in Approved state. Strangely they are also showing up as checked out to System Account.

I believe if a document's moderation status is Approved, it should not be checked out.

Alternately, if some one checks out a document the Approval Status becomes Draft.

Please share your thoughts

Duplicate Item getting created in the sharepoint calender list when syncing with outlook

I have a user who when connects to outlook from the sharepoint calendar list causes the duplication of items existing in the list. There  are no workflow running in the background that would be creating it. Also the issue is coming for only 1 user creating events under his name. As soon as he disconnects the issue stops making me believe that the issue is with the outlook. He reinstalled the outlook but the issue still persists though. I read some blogs and they were blaming the same on recurring items but in my case random evens are getting duplicated and none of them are recurring.
