Hi Friends,
I am new to sharepoint and I am going to learn Sharepoint 2013. First I thought of learning Sharepoint 2010. Then I changed my decision to learn 2013 instead of 2010. I have some confusions now.
When I searched for installing Sharepoint 2013, I found that we can either develop Sharepoint 2013 in a cloud model Office 365 or local model(windows 2008 server). For local model I found that the developer needs Windows Server 2008 R2.
I have a Windows 7 system and I am not able to install Sharepoint 2013 there. But I read in the link thathttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869.aspx that using Visual Studio 2012, we can develop cloud model Sharepoint apps. So as a beginner can I go forward with that decision of developing Sharepoint in a cloud model instead of installing Windows Server 2008.
I need to do a microsoft certification(Sharepoint Application Development) for SharePoint too. So for that is this cloud model(Office 365) enough or do I need to install a server environment and study the basics. I have no basic knowledge of SharePoint. So Do I need to study the sharepoint 2010 basics and then move on to Sharepoint 2013 . So please help as to which method I choose?
Another doubt is I heard two verisions of Sharepoint - Foundation and Server. So to become a good developer in sharepoint , Do I need to install Server version and learn in it , instead of Foundation or is the foundation enough for learning?
