Using Managed Metadata column as lookup

Hi,

I've set term stores:Project Name and Client Name for our project list (General Project info list)and client list (General Client info list).

I've created a custom list for Project Profile and created a managed metadata column for the Project term store.

I have a third list. Project update list and I try to set a lookup for the Project name stored in the Projet Profile list, I cant retreive it (not a simple data type).

Is there a way to eenjoy both worlds, using managed metadata (term store) for the benefit of search and refiners but still be able to refer as lookup for other lists?
