Bug in user detection in SharePoint 2013?

So i've had the RTM version of SP2013 running in a test/staging environment for a few weeks now (I'm an EA customer so have the full release version) and everything has been running ok until today when I tried to configure the designer to edit some page layouts. As part of this it had me map a drive to where the masterpages are and because my user account does not have direct access to the server I naturally told the drive map to use alternate credentials to map the drive. When it connected I was unable to view anything and sharepoint started telling me I did not have permission so I granted my admin account permissions to the website. I refreshed the drive map and was able to see all the files now but for some reason the sharepoint website now thinks I am logging in using my admin account as does sharepoint designer! To try to resolve this I have closed all open folders, unmapped the drive, completely reset IE, iisreset on the SP2013 server, and fully rebooted my system and the SP server but sharepoint still says I am logging in with my admin account even though task manager even clearly shows the program is running as my normal account. I have logged in using the same IE 9 session to my working SP2007 site and it shows my correct nonadmin account as the user. I have no idea how to fix this.
