Hi all, we had a hardware failure of our main SBS 2008 box, which was running Sharepoint Services 3.0. We were not able to recover the system drive/environment (really long story. . .) so had to do a clean install of the OS on dissimilar hardware.
Our data was intact on the drives, including our Sharepoint database file. However, Sharepoint and SQL are not my strong suit; I can't reattach the Sharepoint database. Just to be clear, the Sharepoint database isn't from a backup, it's "as is" on the drive when the server failed. The other thing is that I'm thinking the database is probably "dirty," given that the hardware failure made it impossible to shut down the system properly.
Thanks,
samry
