We have created a SharePoint contact list on our site. We are running SharePoint 2007 WSS 3.0. We would like our users to be able to add contacts and distribution lists to that list. Unfortunitally they are anable to do so. They can add single uses just fine, however the issues comes when we want to make a distribution list.
Within SharePoint I am unable to click New > Distribution LIst. I did the Actions > Connect to Outlook as well. From Outlook 2007 I am able to add a single contact to outlook just fine. However when I try to add a distribution list from outlook I get the following error:
"Your changes cannot be saved because you don't have permission to modify some or all of the items in this folder. Do you want o save a copy of this item in the default folder for the item?"
I know I have the appropriate permission because I am abe to add a single contact, and I'm a site collection administrator. I'm hoping there is just a plug in I can install for this, or a web part but I'm thinking it will just not be possible.
