Issue:
Cannot edit documents that I check out.
Steps to Recreate:
1. Navigate to a document library (this is consitent across the farm).
2. Select a document and click check out.
3. Click the Files Tab and then click edit Document.
Result:
I recieve an error message that states: "We're sorry, we couldn't find a program to open this document."
Conditions:
OS = Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
Sharepoint Version = 2013
Office Version = 2010
Additional Information:
If I use the three little dots (not sure what the nomenclature is for this) and select Edit. That prompts me in the Browser to Open, Save or Cancel. When I select Open, the document opens but now I have a different problem. When I click the enable editing button in the office document, I can edit it fine but changes that I save never make it back to the server. I think the changes are being saved in my local drafts folder. Checking the document back in actually checks in the original version that I am attempting to edit.
Is this two different issues or are they related?
Any help would be appreciated.
