I am working on an auditing solution for SharePoint. This system will provide following capabilities
- Risk management team can generate the reports e.g. all the events on a document or event performed by user or group of users etc. manually.
- Operation can schedule a parameterized report that will be sent to specific audience.
- Operation can generate usage reports.
- Retain the audits data for 7 years to compliance government’s rules.
I have explored out of the box audit capability however it doesn't fit in to the requirement because -
- As report is generated for each site collection whereas this solution does target to SharePoint environment that has more than 100,000 site collections across 3 different farms. Generating 100,000 different reports and then aggregate the same doesn't make sense.
- If audit data is retained for 7 years it will hamper the performance.
Has anyone worked on such solution, if yes please help me here to shape the solution.
