Cannot Edit Sharepoint Public Site

Not sure if this the appropriate place for it but any answer would be appreciate.

I created a public site for a business with Sharepoint, changed the settings to redirect my domain name the sharepoint account and everything. Now I need to make changes to the website but whenever I go in from an admin account to edit the pages, it takes me directly to the public page without the editing options.

Can someone please help in informing me how I can regain access to the editing tools needed to the change the website? Thank you
