We got a SharePoint farm consisting of one WFE, one app and one SQL server. The WFE and App servers got very high CPU usage (WFE at around 50%, APP at 100%) and when I investigated this I found that its the hostcontrollerservice.exe and noderunner.exe processeses that is using all the CPU. These prosseses are all connected to SharePoint search.
Anyone got any ideas how this can be solved? All I can find about this relates to the preview.
When the enviroment was setup for the first time we did not encounter this problem. A different company is currently doing the job of migrating from the customers old 2010 enviroment to the new enviroment. The enviroment got a lot of custom code, is there any code that can lead to the search processes spiking in CPU usage?
