Video Asset Library MetaData, Ratings and viewing video on iOS devices

Three questions pertaining to videos in (SharePoint 2013 on premis with the March CU) asset libraries. I've created an asset library to store videos.

1) When uploading the videos (mp4, wmv) and viewing properties none of the videos have metadata from Frame Width, Frame Height or Length (seconds). One of the columns in the video library list is Length, however, because none of the videos have a value for this field the only option is "empty" so I can't really filter by this column. Is this normal behavior and if so is there a way to get the video length, with and height values in the video metadata?

2) The other issue with the asset library is the Rating Settings. By default this is turned off. If I turn it on and select either Like or Star, it always uses STAR on the video viewing page. It doesn't matter which one I select, it's always Star rating. If I go back and check after setting the experience to Likes it states Likes but the Start rating is still displayed on the video page. Once it's been turned on I cannot turn it off. I went back into the Rating settings and selected No under "Allow items in this list to be rated," however, the Star rating remains in the video view page. This only appears to be an issue with the Videos. The Rating settings configurations appear to work just fine with images in the asset library. In the pop-up for videos if Star rating is selected then Stars will appear, if Like is selected or Allow items in this list to be rated is set to no then nothing appears in the pop-up. I'm assuming this is because you can only like images and not videos? Still not sure why, when you click on a video to bring you to the video viewer page it always show Stars regardless of how the rating settings are configured, after they have been turned on once.

3) Why does SharePoint ask to install Silverlight when attempting to view a mp4 video on an iPad with iOS 6 installed? (Tried with 6.0.1 and 6.1.3). SharePoint should see that this browser is compatible with HTML5 and display the video in HTML5 rather than Silverlight. The video is displayed using HTML5 on my desktop with IE 10 so I know it's not a file format issue.
