2010 to 2013 Datasheet view questions, duplicating 2010 view in 2013 and unsealing column for editing

I have a situation I am trying to resolve one of two ways.

I migrated a 2010 Foundation site to 2013.

The migration went fine but in one of the 2013 data sheet views we have a Multiple Lines of Text column that we cannot edit in datasheet.  We can edit it by going into the Edit Dialog properties.  I have other multi line fields that we can edit.  From what I can see the column is set to sealed.

I tried SharePoint Manager 2013 and I get an error stating the Value is not Valid(0) when trying to change it unsealed.

I need to be able to edit this in Datasheet view but none of the options I have tried have worked and I cannot find the XML file that contains the sealed statement

My other option is there is a left over view from 2010 that has the traditional 2010 view with adjustable columns.  I can edit everything in that view.  I've tried to copy the view but it converts it to the 2013 view.  Is there a way to copy this view retaining the old 2010 layout?

I'm hoping this is something MS addresses in SP1.  I understand they did it for cross platform compatability but they should at least offer the choice.
