User trying to upload a document to a sharepoint 2010 site through ie in windows xp. Giving an invalid file name error, lists what can be part of the file name and what cant. File name is "test.txt" and "test1.txt" respectively.
Setup is a Virtual Machine running on VMView, windows xp. I believe the issue may be related to how the machine appends an extra virtual drive to store any changes made to the vm from the user session (user files, installed programs etc...) and keeps it separate from the operating system, basically it is folder redirection, where anything saved has a file path of "\\server\documents\test1.txt" versus "D:/documents/test1.txt". Sharepoint correctly picks up the redirected path whenever selecting the file, however it keeps giving the invalid file name error.
Any thoughts on how to correct the issue or what may be at fault here would be appreciated.
