Outlook sync greyed out in Discussion Board list menu. How do I enable it?

Hello,

I am using SharePoint 2013 (Office 365) version and I am the administrator for the entire Office 365 platform. I created a discussion app (OOB) that I would like to sync to my Outlook. I have Office 365 Exchange configured as well as Outlook 2013.

The option to sync is greyed out. How to I enable this?

FYI, Sync to Outlook is enabled for my Task list on the same sub site. The sub site does inherit the permissions from the parent team site.

Any ideas? I tried the F5 trick... didn't work. I also tried to disconnect the MDS, still didn't work. arrgh!
