Sharepoint 2013 built-in apps

I've been tasked with setting up a small intranet using sharepoint.  I'm learning how by watching videos and reading articles here and other places.

When I add an app I'm finding the one's available are very limited.

I have: Document Library, Picture Library, Contacts, Custom List, Asset Library, Site Mailbox, Import Spreadsheet, and Access App.

Many videos and tutorials I've seen have many more available, such as: Calendar, Announcements, Links, News Feed, Wiki, Noteboard, etc..

How can I gain access to these apps?  The version I'm using is Office 365 Sharepoint 2013 (E1 pack).  Are these in another pack, like E3 or E4?
