should I start with SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint 2010 --> SharePoint 2013?

I am a .NET developer (having rich knowledge).

I am thinking of moving to SharePoint. I have an query for which I think you can help.

Is it advisable to start with SharePoint 2013 or first give a try on SharePoint 2010 and then upgrade myself to SharePoint 2013?

I request you to suggest plan/path to achieve my goal.
