Convert to Host Named Site collection without export/import

I want to move to host named site collections.

But from what I know it requires export and import of the site.

This process is known to be very very slow in SharePoint and therefore I want to know if there is a way to convert an entire database (with all site collections inside) to host named site collections.

Rather than export, delete and then import of the site as HNSC.
