I need to create a patient portal for about 1200 patients and 20 doctors and their staff.
The patients need to log into a common entry page then go to an area (site?) that is personalized for them only.
They should have a document library with only their documents and a way to communicate with their doctor and staff.
The doctor and staff should be able to see their group of patients and be able to place documents for one or many patients in their document libraries.
The doctor and their staff should be able to communicate with one or many patients and be able to sort their communications by priority.
Is this something that can be done with Sharepoint 2010 or 2013?
Should this be done with 1220 sites? or should it be done with 2 sites with item permissions?
HealthVault seems to be a similar concept to what I am trying to do but I need complete control of this for a medical research trial.
