Both Custom as well as default SharePoint List Alert Template are generating alert mails?

Hi,

i wanted to create a new alert for a specific list.

I am able to create a new custom alert template with the help of following link.

Steps i followed :

1. Copied alert template.xml and given new name.

2.  Made required changes to fields.

3. Run commands mentioned in above link.

4. Reset IIs.

5. Run Timer job (Imidiate alerts)

However,

somehow, the old template (The Default sharepoint alert template) is also sending mails.

i am not able to figure out why both templates are generating mails.
