Sharepoint Error: Keeps appearing when I save the page!

Hello,

I am attempting to edit my SharePoint web page and everytime I save and close the page above the table the symbols <> appear - See screenshot below.

I have tried to delete the code and start over, and they still keep appearing everytime I go to edit or close the page. I eventually get a build up of this <><><><><><><><> and I don't know what to do about it. Can anybody please advise?
