Project Server 2019 Error

Good Morning SharePoint Experts.

I am deploying a new Project Server site with the PWA template. However I'm getting the error below when browsing to the site /myprojectsite/default.aspx. I've spend at least a week trying to find the root cause with no luck :(. Any help is very much appreciated.

  • SharePoint Version: 2019 Enterprise
  • SQL Version:
  • 2016 Farm: 3 tier (App, FE, SQL)

I created the Project Web App Site as per the the instructions below:

  1. Enabled PWA site collection features
  2. Created a PWA site in an existing site collection

The site creates successfully and if I go to the parent site collection "site content" I see my site. And if I click on the ellipsis for my PWA subsite I can browse to it's site content as well and all pages display except "default.aspx" where the PWA should show. I get the error message below when I go tohttps://mysitecollection.domain.com/projects/default.aspx:

Server Error in '/' Application.

The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'objects', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'objects', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.

Source Error:

The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

  <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

or:

2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <compilation debug="true"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.
