We are currently building a BI site using SharePoint 2013 and the new PowerPivot/PowerViewer options. Much to our surprise the site WILL NOT WORK from the Metro version of IE. I read on one blog Microsoft did not support the LEGACY plug-in of silverlight, which is what Powerviewer is built on, in the metro version. If that is the case why did the PowerPivot LEGACY technology to build the 2013 product? Sounds like Microsoft development teams don't talk to each other. No wonder they are getting such bad reviews on Windows 8. Even the Android and Apple products support the PowerViewer technology.
So is there a plan to fix this or are our users doomed to use the desktop version of IE, which is like not having Windows 8.
