can i delete and recreate a performancepoint secure store service application?

hello,

setting up data access in PPS Dashboard Designer is such a hassle! Seems when I setup SharePoint 2013, a secure store service application was setup by default. Even with that , when I entered my Server name while trying to setup a data source connection in dashboard designer it still came up empty.

Can I safely delete it and set it up again using guidance from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee806866.aspx ?
