Windows Phone newsfeed app won't connect to on-prem server

I'm trying to use the SharePoint Newsfeed app on my shiny new Lumia 920, and no matter what URL I try, I get this:

Something went wrong

Please check the URL and your internet connection or try again later.

I have tried https://server.domain.com,https://server.domain.com/my, https://server.domain.com/my/personal, and https://server.domain.com/my/personal/username and none of those will connect. The frustrating thing is that the iPhone and iPad apps connect just fine using https://server.domain.com.

Kind of frustrated and search engines produced no help whatsoever, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful, thanks.
