I am an IT pro for a School District and we are using Sharepoint 2013 in a BYOD Pilot Program. Where students can access their documents from various devices in various locations using their own devices. They also can share documents between each other easily too.
Now here is the problem I have. Students do not have email addresses issued by the district, nor will they be due to liability and other concerns (we are dealing with Middle Schoolers here). So when one student shares a document with another there is no way to notify the user that you shared something with them.
The simplest solution would be to just give a user the ability to see all the documents that are shared with him and who the owner of said documents are. I have found a sharepoint App that can supposedly do this but I have been told we will not purchase a new external domain or certificate to go with it for a Pilot and it needs to work outside the LAN. So what other options do I have? I have looked for web parts that do this and have not found any yet.
Any ideas?
