I have a question concerning a connection to SharePoint 2013 from an external database, we are pretty new to SharePoint and we have basic knowledge of programming, but nothing too advanced! :)
In our internship they would like to visualise data in sharepoint, this data comes from their own server. now my question is : is it possible to make a connection to a database, get the data from a certain table and visualise it in SharePoint in a table? If so, please tell me how :)
Even if this is possible, we would like to be able to filter on a certain term. Let's say we want to visualise all of the employees with all of their attached data like last name, phone number, address, and so on. but what if the list is too long and we only want to see the data of Dries, is it possible to search on a certain person (by typing the name "Dries" in a textbox) and only visualise that person his data?
