App using sharepoint workflow

Hi,

We already have an application based on asp.net for which we have defined our custom workflow engine. Now we have a requirement to port this application to sharepoint and the customer wants to use sharepoint workflow with it.

We like the sharepoint app model but the question still remains about how to use sharepoint as the workflow engine.

Any thoughts ??
