We've got over 30 Word templates (.dot) that our network users access from their on premise Word programs. We'd like to allow our remote users access to these templates but don't have our VPN up and running yet.
I've looked at SharePoint Online as an option since we do have Office 365 rolled out. It would be nice to stick copies of the .dot files out in a Document Library and then have remote users navigate there when they're away.
From what I've read, SharePoint may not work for this as it handles templates differently. We're not looking for anything fancy other than the ability to point to a library if they need a Memo.dot, Travel Expense.dot, etc.
Has anyone done something like this before?
