SPTimerV4 SharePoint Timer Service will not start after web server reboot.

Hi,

Our web server #2 (WFE2) was rebooted...don't ask why! Anyway I noticed that Site Analytics were showing zero users on our SharePoint home page, when there's usually and average of 2,600 each week. After digging about I found the SPTimerV4 job was not running on this web server, so I went in to restart it from the Services.msc and got:

Error 1053: The service did not respond...etc in a timely fashion.

I've also noticed on Central Admin, running timer jobs, that 4 jobs were in a permanent "Pause" state on WFE2. Timer jobs were happily starting and finishing on all other servers.

So, to get this SPTimerV4 service running again on WFE2, will clearing out the configuration cache on all of the farm's servers do the trick?

Suggestions very much appreciated...
