Is storing of .sql files on SharePoint is supported and/or recommended?

Hi ,

  I would like to know if storing of  .sql files on SharePoint is supported and/or recommended?Also I would like to know the aftermath of doing so . Would this cause any potential impact to SharePoint's performance ? Please check and let me know .Thanks in advance .
