connect outlook greyed sharepoint 2k13 and outllook 2013

I have a brand new sharepoint 2k13 setup and outlook 2013.

I added an oulook app contact list. Opening the list, I was surprised that "Connect to Outlook" is greyed out, hovering on it I get the following message "This control is currently disabled Connect to Outlook "

Is offline syn feature is enabled on the list and document library. I read on some blogs that there is an optionOffice Item Type which needs to be setup to "contact, task......." but not able to find where is this option.

Any pointer to a step by step to acheiven this
