I just downloaded and installed KB2768000 to my SharePoint 2013 server. The installation was "successful" and a reboot was required. After a restart, I attempted to run the Products Configuration Wizard. The wizard fails on step 2 of 10. I get:
Failed to initiate the upgrade sequence.
An exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeException was thrown. Additional exception information: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeException' was thrown.
Looking through the logs, I really cannot tell what is going on. With it ending so early in the process, it's like there is a bad service account or something.
I can get into Central Administration. I cannot add another web (I have been attempting upgrades of an earlier content DB, and removed the test web application before applying the update). When I launch the SharePoint management shell, I get:
Method 'get_IsClientValid' in type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices.Workfl
owServiceApplicationProxy' from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices,
Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not ha
ve an implementation.
I have also tried psconfig -cmd upgrade. It gets to configuration task 2 of 4 and fails.
Failed to initiate the upgrade sequence.
An exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeException was thrown.
Additional exception information: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgr
ade.SPUpgradeException' was thrown.

I really want to get upgraded to 2013 so I don't have to touch this for a while. But I have now spent 3 months attempting to upgrade our content db, and now this. My confidence in the product is wavering. I wish there were something else to fill this niche.
