I'm very new to Sharepoint, but am trying to implement a very simple document repository for a client. So I'm playing with Sharepoint 2013 Foundation (standalone installation - not farm) and have Office 2007 service pack 2 (which is what our client is using) installed on the server (which is Windows Server 2008 R2).
I have created a site and have uploaded a Word document (.docx) to it. However, when I then click on the file to view or edit it, I get the following messages (I'm using IE9):
"The webpage cannot be displayed
Most likely cause:
•Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed."
Can anyone give some guidance as to why Sharepoint can't display the document, or where I might look for further information?
