Hi,
I originally posted this question in the Office 2010/Word forum but was asked to move it here as it was more likely that the issue encountered was a SharePoint problem. Here is the question, reproduced with a small edit to reflect new information:
A couple of our users have reported that Word occasionally goes into a "not responding" state and has to be terminated and restarted. I have seen other threads discussing this issue but all those conversations involved Word freezing all the time, not just occasionally. The worst-affected user has one or two incidents a day, the others much less frequently. When Word hangs, the following shows up in the event viewer:
Faulting application name: WINWORD.EXE, version: 14.0.6024.1000, time stamp: 0x4d83e2f6

Report Id: 8a929a64-e6a7-11e5-8983-18cf5eb2e121This sometimes occurs while the user is typing, rather than when the document is being saved or opened. The document in question is on a sharepoint foundation 2007 server, accessed by direct path (i.e. \\servername\sitename\libraryname\foldername\documentname.docx
Has anyone come across this situation before, and is there any known fix?
Thanks in advance,
Tony Spratt.
