Using html code to link to a bookmark in a word document

Having problems doing this. Here is the code we're using:

<area href="http://connected/sites/InfoBase/method/Shared%20Documents/InfoBase%20Methodology%20-%20Outline.docx#Engagement" shape="circle" coords="498, 256, 45">

It will bring the word document up, but won't take it to the bookmark. We've tried google-ing but not having any luck with results.

Any help would be appreciated.
