Hi All,

Note:-

1. I have already installed VS2010 Professional in my machine

2. I have also already installed SQL Sever 2008 r2 in machine.

3. Already installed Microsoft office 2010 professional machine.

Now I am trying to install SharePoint 2010 in my machine Window 7 professional using below hints:-

Installing SharePoint Server 2010 On Windows 7

Installing SP Server or SP Foundation on windows7 is bit tricky, If you follow the steps as mentioned below u'll be able to install without any errors.

For sharepoint installation you need to have WINDOWS 7 Professional or Ultimate 64 BIT (x64)

It may or may not install on windows 7 home premium (x64). But definitely not on any version of Windows 7 32 BIT (x86).

Step 1.

Add .Net FrameWork 3.5 SP1 And Internet Information Services (IIS)
Make sure you check all the check boxes for both IIS and .net framework 3.5 ->I have done this step.Its fine

Step 2.

---

Run Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition Service Pack 1 (SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe) -> I was trying to this step but getting that already you have installed latest version.

Step 3.

---

Have Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express(SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe)-I have SQL Server 2008 r2 so I think this is not needed.

Step 4.

Prerequisites for SharePoint Server 2010

1. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services ADOMD.NET- Already have latest version

2. Microsoft Sync Framework- I have installed this

3. Microsoft Chart Controls for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 -I have installed this

4. Windows Identity Foundation (Windows6.1-KB974405-x64.msu)-trying to install getting already you have latest version.

5. WCF Hotfix for Microsoft Windows 7 (Windows6.1-KB976462-v2-x64)-Was trying to install getting not applicable on your system

6. ADO.NET Data Services Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Windows6.1-KB982307-x64.msu)-All ready you have latest version

7. Microsoft FilterPack 2.0 (C:\SharePoint\PrerequisiteInstallerFiles\FilterPack\FilterPack.msi)-I have installed this

Install this after extracting files from SharePointServer.exe in further steps.

Step 5.

Download Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Trial (SharePointServer.exe)

When we run this SharePointServer.exe, we get error shown below

Now I have extracted the SharePointServer and added <Setting Id="AllowWindowsClientInstall" Value="True"/> into config.xml of file folder - this is fine

I tried to run the Setup.exe file (NOT SharePointServer.exe file) but after entering the key and selecting the StandAlone then it starts installing but after 1-2 minuter (updating) throwing error and not getting error log even.
