Trying to disable the “SharePoint Search Host Controller” and the “SharePoint Server Search 15” services

Hi All,

I would like to disable the “SharePoint Search Host Controller” and the “SharePoint Server Search 15” services within a SharePoint 2013 test environment. The problem I am having is even after stopping both services and setting the startup type to disable, they both reset themselves back to automatic startup and then restart again.

Can someone please tell me what is resetting and restarting the “SharePoint Search Host Controller” and the “SharePoint Server Search 15” services, and also if I do stop these two services how will this affect my SharePoint environment.
