Im having issues on a SP2013 Publishing Site. (or several)
When a user creates a subsite of type Publishing Site the default page layout is not inherited.
Sure, we can change after we create the site, but most users don't get this.
We can instead use template Publishing Site with Workflow, but then instead we're stuck with approval workflow.
Sure, we can disable approval, but most users don't get this.
Also with both these site templates, search navigation nodes are not ineherited on either. Which sort wreaks on the whole search experience if we don't enable the same target resultpage for all queries. But my users don't like this either.
So after tearing my hair from this unlogical issue, users who now demanding custom code and eventreceivers to muddy the water, which potentially might fix this.
But my question is: What is the correct way to to work with a publishing site?
There must be some template that actually inherit the lot or what is the logic behind this?
Offical MS resources says that publishing sites should not be used to create custom templates so this breaks support which is unacceptable.
What gives?
