Whenever I hover over the Profile Image (see image) on a SharePoint 2013. Client machine has IE 9 and Lync 2013. (all latest Windows Updates). Any ideas? Doesnt happen in Chrome, FireFox, Safari. I have a feeling it may be Lync but the fact that in my SharePoint 2007 enviroment I can over over and launch chat sessions from within IE makes me think its not IE and its not Lync. Only thing I can think is that SharePoint 2013 is trying to run some ActiveX to interface with the Lync client to initiate chat and that it is causing the crash.
