Edited the Default "wiki categories" site column on Content Type Hub and now I can't publish the Enterprise Wiki Page content type

Hello,

We have a stage, QA and prod environment at our company.

On our prod content type hub, I accidentally changed the default term set for the “wiki category” site column to a global term set.

I had created a new content type based on the enterprise wiki page content type. When I was editing that new content type, I accidentally edited the default wiki category site column and changed the term set from the default, which points to the local site collection wiki categories term set, to a global term set in our managed metadata service. I published that child content type and now each time a new Enterprise wiki site collection is created, the pages library is using that global term set vs. the local site collection wiki categories term set.

I was able to update the "wiki category" site column in the prod content type hub to its' original setting and click Ok to save, but when I go to the Enterprise wiki page content type I can't publish it. I get this message. I opened a ticket with Microsoft 5 weeks ago and they have been no help. They are recommending I completely re-create the content type hub, which is going to be a huge pain as we have about 16 active custom content types that are being used by various site collections.

It is hard to beleive that the "wiki category" site column can't somehow be changed back to its original configuration.

Please help!

Marcy
